Bell Caravan & Camping

The whole county of Wiltshire is very historic, the most famous being Avebury and Stonehenge. The Sarsen stones for Stonehenge are thought to have been taken over or very close to this campsite on their way from Avebury over Red Horn Hill and on to Stonehenge. Close to Avebury is the West Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill, the largest man made mound in Europe.

Close to the campsite is the village of Urchfont, which can be reached across the fields, the picturesque village pond scene may be familiar to you, it was one painting chosen by the Post Office to decorate the walls of some of their offices.

The village church set back behind the pond dates back many centuries and the foundations are thought to predate the Norman Conquest. Red Horn Hill is just 1-mile distance with stunning views of Salisbury Plain and Pewsey vale. The perimeter track is permanently open for walking, cycling or motoring.
