East Balthangie Caravan Park |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
East Balthangie Caravan Park is ideally situated for exploring Banff and Buchan and is set in an area that has a wealth of beautiful and interesting places to visit and enjoy. The Castle Trail and Coastal Trail are within easy reach and of course the Distilleries are always popular with our holidaymakers. Wildlife is abundant- Deer, Pheasants, Buzzards, Owls are just some of the regular visitors and our herd of nine grazing horses set a very tranquil scene. The site is very well sheltered by trees and is a real suntrap at times. The East Coast of Scotland has one of the driest climates and our site is no exception, with very low rainfall in comparison to the West of Scotland. Within East Balthangie you will find a new toilet and shower block, along with the campers kitchen (to include a microwave, toaster, electric kettle, TV, radio, washing machine, spin dryer, tumble dryer, kitchen table & chairs, sink etc). The new bike bothy is also open. This is for campers who prefer an upgrade from sleeping in the tent, to a comfortable bunk bed for a change £12.50 per night, to include access to the kitchen). Children are welcome on the site, however, we probably have more of a name for people looking for a quite restful site, where their pets have some freedom but and are safe from busy roads, or concerns about livestock worrying. The games pavilion has a
pool table, darts board and table tennis board and TV room for campers.
The climate is usually dry and sunny, with a gentle coastal breeze on
occasions. At night, the sky is
superb, with one of the best views in the country of the Milky Way. On
occasions, you will also see the Northern Lights. Bear in mind though,
that in this part of the world, the sun barely dips below the horizon
around June! Eating out poses no problem here, as choices vary from the local Chippy or Chinese carryout to good Bar Meals and Restaurants with cuisines to suit most tastes. Or you may wish to stay on site, have a barbecue and truly eat out! Prices for 2010 are Caravans £14.50 per night all inclusive. Large family Tents £12.50, Small tents £8.50. £2-00 for electric hook up. The
prices include access all areas, electric hook up, with only laundry
facilities beings charged extra at £2.00 per wash and 50p per half hour
tumble dry. Don't forget to
