Hillcroft has a selection of luxuriously appointed and fully equipped lodges for rental, they make a perfect base for exploring the magnificent Lake District.

In addition to this, there is Meadowbank; a two-bedroom luxury and recently refurbished bungalow for rent. The park also offers camping pitches for up to 90 tents in high season 14 of which have 10 amps mains electric hook-up. The average size is 8m x 12m.

There are also eight new camping pods with mains electricity. Pets are allowed with a maximum of two dogs per pitch. The nearest bus stop is a half mile walk. Sorry, there are no facilities for touring caravans or motor homes.

Around and about

Situated just beside the beautiful village of Pooley Bridge, nestled on the fellside overlooking Ullswater, Hillcroft Country Park is the perfect location for holidays in the Lake District. Fine walking and cycling opportunities abound, straight from the park. In addition, for the energetic, there is hang-gliding, climbing, paragliding, white water canoeing, dinghy sailing and mountain biking, all within easy reach.

There are also plenty of more gentle options to enjoy. You can explore the host of historic castles and houses in the area, such as the wonderful Dalemain historic house and gardens, stroll around charming Lakeland towns and villages or you and your family can have fun at the many events happening all year round. Visit the nearby Rheged Centre, a family entertainment and leisure complex that is Cumbria’s leading family day out.

Directions and location:

From the M6 junction 40 take A66 to Keswick. After 1 Mile take a left onto A592, Ullswater. At the lake turn left to Pooley Bridge, bear right at village church, then go straight over at the cross roads the park is 100m on the left.
