On the South side of Edinburgh, within the city
boundary, is a private country estate of 200 acres in which lies the beautifully
maintained Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park.
In a sheltered bowl with southerly views to the Pentland Hills, Mortonhall House
and stable block, designed in classical style, set the character of the park.
It is still in the ownership of the family who entertained Montrose’s army here
in the 17th Century.
An old woodland garden with specimen trees from all parts of the world flanks
the Western end of the estate, providing visitors with a choice of delightful
waymarked walks.
Ideally situated, with easy access to the city By-Pass (A720) and the main roads
entering the City, Mortonhall has much to offer and the Restaurant and Stable
Bar enhance visitors’ enjoyment.
A shop for everyday needs, games room, colour TV room, information centre and
large laundry with full washing, drying and ironing facilities are also provided
within the old stable buildings.
